Does Digital communication require voice verify?

Asked someone to email me an account number today. Received an email, which my IM client kindly alerted me too... My phone then started to vibrate. 1 vibrate... dont move.. and feel for the 2nd one. 2nd Vibrate.. dang it, its a phone call. Answer the phone only to realise that it was voice verification about the email. -- sigh -- technology.
